  • Originally built in 1930 during the Japanese rule period as a water treatment plant, the complex featured the most advanced facility design of its time, supplying drinking water to Beigang residents for over six decades before ceasing operations in 1997. The Yunlin County Government subsequently restored its facilities, buildings, and surrounding landscape, transforming it into a cultural park named after its local moniker, "Shuidoutou" (Water Tower). The cross-shaped water tower, formerly known as the Beigang Old Water Tower, features a charming and distinctive design; it was once a vital water source for the entire town and stands as one of Beigang’s few remaining iconic structures from the Japanese era. Today, the park is home to centennial trees, traditional Japanese architecture, and lotus ponds, offering visitors a peaceful setting for leisure and relaxation.
